MID JUNIOR HURLING LEAGUE
Both of our junior teams were in action last weekend. On Thursday 3rd our junior B side took on Holycross-Ballycahill in division 3. In a good performance all around the field we held a 3 point advantage at half time and maintained a lead throughout the second half. However Holycross struck an injury time goal to pip us by a point 2-14 to 0-19. Our junior A side had better luck as they took on Drom & Inch in division 1 last Saturday evening in Drombane. An early goal for Upperchurch offset some good point-taking from Drom and we continued to grow into the game from there. Eanna Ryan struck the net 5 minutes before half time to give us a 7 point lead at the interval. Drom took control in the second half, striking 2-3 without reply to gain the lead with 10 minutes remaining. This jolted Upperchurch into finding their accuracy and over the next 10 minutes both sides traded a number of points, and also a goal apiece, as they were tied entering injury time. Two late points saw Upperchurch gain the win 3-14 to 3-12. Our junior A side are next in action on Saturday 19th when they take on Moycarkey-Borris at 7pm in Littleton. In division 3 our junior B side play Killea next Thursday 17th at 7:45pm in Drombane.
