SENIOR HURLING
After defeat to Thurles Sarsfields in the opening game we will be looking to get a win on the board this weekend when we face Kilruane MacDonaghs in round two of the county championship. The game takes place on Sunday evening at 6:30pm in Templederry. Would be great to see as many there as possible to support the team. The senior footballers got their county championship off to a winning start last Sunday when defeating Grangemockler-Ballyneale in Cashel. A quick opening from Upperchurch via a brace of two pointers from Luke Shanahan and Conor Fahey, along with a goal from Paul Shanahan, put us 1-4 to 0-1 ahead after 11 minutes. This lead was further extended throughout the opening half and a 2 point free from Paul Shanahan right on the stroke of half time saw Upperchurch lead 1-12 to 0-3 at the break. When Upperchurch got the opening 3 scores of the 2nd half it extended the lead to 15. However, Grangemockler found their range and 3 2-pointers from play in the space of 90 seconds massively cut into the lead. Upperchurch kept the opponents at bay who, although grabbing another couple of 2 pointers, were not able to get the lead lower than 6 points and Upperchurch took the win by 1-18 to 0-14. The next group game will be against Moyle Rovers, who defeated Loughmore by 1 point, and is fixed for Sunday 16th at 4pm in Golden.

JUNIOR A HURLING

MINOR FOOTBALL
Our minor A footballers defeated Thurles Sarsfields last night by 7-7 to 2-9 in the mid championship. Their final group game will be against the combo of Moyne/Loughmore.
