After claiming the mid title we begin our county campaign tonight(Friday) against Carrick Swans. Throw-in is at 7:30pm in Littleton and a good support would be welcome as we take on the south champions. Commiserations to our intermediate hurlers who were defeated by Drom & Inch in the mid final last weekend in Gortnahoe. A strong Drom team got off to a flyer finding the net twice in the opening quarter and taking a 9 point lead. A goal from Jack Butler steadied us somewhat and a good spell of points brought the gap back to 4. Drom kicked on again and had built up a commanding lead by half time. A goal early in the second half from Sean Ryan showed that Upperchurch would not lie down and some nice points followed as we once again stayed in the game. Drom were cleverer with their use of the ball though and pulled away in the end for a 4-19 to 2-12 win. Attention now turns to the county championship with the first tie against Knockavilla on Sunday at 1pm in Annacarty. Our 3rd team play their first group game tomorrow(Saturday) when they face Gortnahoe-Glengoole in Drombane at 6pm. Best of luck to team and mentors.

We had a good victory over Holycross/Ballycahill during the week and currently sit 2nd in the table. Our remaining group game v JK Brackens Og will take place in a few weeks time.

NEW FIELD BENEFACTOR SCHEME LAUNCH

Thanks to all who have signed up so far to our New Field Benefactor Scheme. Works are still ongoing at preparing our new full size pitch & juvenile pitch and good progress is being made. To help cover the cost of this work and the provision of car parking facilities we are inviting supporters to help us and become a benefactor. Patrons will be able to support the scheme by bank transfer, subscribing in person with a committee member or payment online via our club website.
