SENIOR HURLING

We look to get a win on the board when we play Templederry in Semple Stadium this Sunday 13th at 3:30pm in our next game in the county championship. INTERMEDIATE HURLING

The Intermediate hurlers faced Ballybacon Grange in the 2nd group game last night in Cloneen and were defeated 0-15 to 0-13. Playing with a strong wind in the first half we moved into an early 5 point lead before Ballybacon clawed it back to just 2 at half time. The second half was a tough tight affair with little between the sides, Ballybacon just edging it in the end. Our final group game is in 2 weeks time against Skeheenarinky.

SENIOR FOOTBALL

We got our senior football championship campaign off to a winning start when we defeated Cahir last weekend in Golden. Upperchurch had the better of the early exchanges but a Cahir goal after 15 minutes put them 2 in front. This was rectified 2 minutes later when Luke Shanahan found the net to restore our advantage and we went into the break with a 3 point lead. The lead was pushed out to 4 points until another goal midway through the second half reduced it to the minimum once again. Upperchurch gained command from there on and were able to extend the advantage and win by 3 points 1-11 to 2-5. A good overall performance with scores coming from across the team. Next up is a clash with Killenaule next weekend.

JUNIOR C HURLING

The junior C's played their first game of the mid championship last Tuesday against Gortnahoe Glengoole. Despite a good performance Gortnahoe were 4 point winners 1-16 to 2-9. Their next group game is set for next Monday at 7:30pm in the Outside Field Thurles v Thurles Sarsfields. Best of luck to all involved.

UNDER 19 HURLING

Our under 19 hurlers play their final group game against Na Sairsealaigh Óg next Thursday at 7:30pm in the Outside Field Thurles. Good luck to all players and management.

The new season of the Tipperary GAA Draw is approaching with the first draw taking place in 2 weeks time and the usual array of great prizes up for grabs.
