WEEKLY NOTES

With club GAA activity finally getting back underway it's a good time to resume the weekly GAA notes. Hoping all members are in good health and looking forward to a hectic few months of club action.

SENIOR HURLING

After the long break our senior hurlers finally got back into competitive action in the first round of the county league last night when they faced Drom & Inch in The Ragg. In an open encounter it was nip & tuck in the first half before we took charge midway through the 2nd half and despite a late Drom charge we gained a 4 point victory (2-20 to 2-16). Our next outing is in the Cahill Cup quarter final next Wednesday against Gortnahoe-Glengoole in Gortnahoe at 7:30pm. Tickets go on sale online this evening(Friday 11th) at 8pm. €5 per ticket. JUNIOR HURLING

The junior hurlers begin their mid junior hurling league campaign this Saturday at 7:30pm in Drombane against Gortnahoe-Glengoole. Tickets can still be purchased at the following link: https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/mid-tipp-gaa/ No tickets will be available through the club or on the gate for this game. The match will also be streamed on our facebook page. Best of luck to the lads.

UNDER 21 FOOTBALL

The delayed 2020 county under 21B football final v Ballina has been fixed for Saturday 26th June in Dolla at 2:30pm.

TOUR DE PARISH '21

This week we launched our latest fundraiser to keep progressing our development in Drombane. Over the weekend of June 26th/27th we are hosting Tour De Parish where we are hoping people can run, walk or cycle a cumulative distance of 3,500km. Simply text your distance to 087-9665385 & donate on www.gofundme.com/tour-de-parish-21 or via envelopes at Ryan's Shop or Drombane Creamery. We have 7 dedicated looped routes, ranging from 3km to 42km, which you can view complete or you can choose your own. We'll be showcasing each of the routes on social media over the coming weeks including the challenging 42km Black route. Hoping to see as many taking part as possible.

TG4 GO GASTA

Well done to the 6 participants from our parish who competed in the TG4 show Go Gasta last Saturday against a team from Holycross/Ballycahill. Willie Shanahan, Kelley Harrington, Eamon Fogarty, Mary Burke, Pat Ryan and Caroline Shanahan put in a serious effort on the day taking on the various challenges. The show will be broadcast on TG4 later in the year.
