SENIOR HURLING
Well done to the senior hurlers who overcame Carrick Swans in Golden last Saturday to claim their 2nd win in the Dan Breen championship group stage. The first half especially was a tough, hard fought affair with the teams evenly matched and trading points until just before half time Michael Lee struck for the games opening goal. This helped us to a 4point half time lead. We started the second half strongly scoring 5 of the opening 6 points to take an 8 point lead and despite 2 goals from Swans we were able to run out 6 point victors 1-23 to 2-14. The final group game is this Sunday between Thurles Sarsfields and Drom & Inch and should Drom not win we will qualify for the knockout stages. If Drom do win then this will set up a 3 way playoff between ourselves, Sars and Drom to see who emerges.
SENIOR FOOTBALL
The final group game has been fixed for Sat 8th Spetember at 6pm in Dundrum against Arravale Rovers. We currently sit on 2 points from our 2 games. Moyle Rovers currently have maximum poitns from the 2 rounds played, Upperchurch & Arravale are on 2 pts while Galtee Rovers are yet to get off the mark.
