SENIOR FOOTBALL
Our senior footballers bounced back well from an opening round defeat to Moyle Rovers by getting full points from their meeting with Killenaule yesterday. A Paul Shanahan goal from a penalty in the first minute set us on our way but it was Killenaule who took a foothold from there and nearing half time were leading by a point. Late injury time points for Upperchurch though gave us a 2 point advantage at the break. Killenaule were out of the traps quickly in the second half, notching 3 points in as many minutes to take the lead again. That was to be their final score of the game though as a Conor Fahey goal in response set Upperchurch in command. A further goal from Keith Ryan three minutes later extended the lead to 6 points. Upperchurch were able to see out the game from there, adding a few extra scores to win 3-11 to 0-10. Our final group game will be against Arravale Rovers on the weekend of Sep 12th.
Best of luck to our junior C side as they face Gortnahoe-Glengoole this Wednesday evening at 8pm in Drombane.
UNDER 19 FOOTBALL
Hard luck to our under 19 footballers who, despite a fine effort, were defeated by JK Brackens in the mid semi final last week. With the sides level after normal time, the Templemore side edged it by a point after extra time.
MASTERS HURLING ALL IRELAND
