JUNIOR B FOOTBALL
Our junior B side had a good victory over Moyne/Templetouhy last Friday evening in Drombane. Despite a promising start from Moyne, a Bob Murphy goal settled the home side, with the teams level at the 15 minute mark. A second goal for Bob Murphy swung the tie in Upperchurch's favour and we took a 2 point advantage into the break. A Moyne point immediately on the restart put the minimum between the sides but from then on Upperchurch found another gear and scored 14 of the remaining 16 points in the game. This included 2 point scores for both Ailbe O'Donoghue and Hughie Purcell. Final score was Upperchurch 2-17 Moyne 0-10. We finish top of the group and will now face Boherlahan Dualla in the mid semi final in a few weeks time.
JUNIOR C HURLING
Our third team put in an impressive display to claim victory over Boherlahan Dualla in their opening mid game last night in Drombane. They had 3 points to spare on a score line of 1-21 to 5-6. The next game is currently pencilled in for 2 weeks time.
INTERCOUNTY HURLING
Congratulations to the Tipperary senior hurlers on their decisive win in the All-Ireland final last weekend in Croke Park and also to our own Michael Bourke who was part of the backroom team.
