***Kindly Sponsored By Oliver Ryan's Bar, Upperchurch***
A late rally wasn't enough to prevent Moycarkey-Borris recording a 2 point victory over Upperchurch last Sunday in Littleton. An early Moycarkey goal saw them build a 3 point lead which they maintained throughout the opening half. Midway through the second period the gap was out to 8 and the game seemed to be slipping away from Upperchurch. However a couple of points, followed by a Pat Shortt goal from a 21 yard free, reduced the deficit to just three with three minutes of normal time remaining. Moycarkey's response of 2 points was negated by another 2 from Upperchurch. Pat Shortt then had a late attempted goal attempt from another free, which would have tied the sides, directed over the bar with the final play of the game. Final score was 1-16 to 1-14 in favour of Moycarkey. With a win and a loss from the 2 games so far we have one group game remaining against Holycross-Ballycahill. That is scheduled for Friday 25th at 7:45pm in Drombane
