SENIOR HURLING
Last Saturday evening was a highlight for our senior hurlers as they dethroned last years mid champions Loughmore-Castleiney to qualify for the mid final vs Thurles Sarsfields. Upperchurch got up to the pace of the game with an early goal from Loughlin Ryan and 2 more in quick succession before half time saw us stretch our lead to 9 points at the interval. Loughmore, as expected, staged a dogged fightback in the second half and at one stage reduced the arrears to 5 points but Upperchurch showed all their grit by scoring the final 7 points of the game to prevail by 10 points 3-22 to 0-21. Fine performances throughout the field were key to this win that puts us into our 3rd mid final in the last 10 years. The final v Thurles Sarsfields takes place this Sunday evening at 6pm in The Ragg and all are encouraged to come along and support as we try to claim our first ever mid title.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
The senior football mid final against Loughmore-Castleiney has been fixed for Sat Sept 9th at 5:30pm in Littleton. After running Loughmore so close in last years final this is a great chance to go one more step and claim our first ever mid senior title. It is also a unique opportunity to join Loughmore as the only other club to win both mid senior hurling & football titles in the same year. One further note is that it took over 100 years for a team from Upperchurch Drombane to reach a senior mid final in either hurling or football but by the time the football final rolls around on the 9th we will have competed in 3 in under 12 months.
