SENIOR HURLING
All roads lead to Semple Stadium this Saturday for the final group game of the county SHC against Borris-Ileigh. Throw in is at 7pm. A victory will see us progress to the county knockout series while a draw may also be enough depending on the result of the Loughmore – Kiladangan game. All support will be appreciated. The fixtures for the mid championship have also been made and our quarter final against JK Brackens will be played on Sat Aug 19th at 4pm in Holycross. The semi final and final are fixed for the following 2 weekends should we progress.
SENIOR FOOTBALL
The semi final of the mid championship against Drom & Inch has been fixed for Tue Aug 22nd at 7pm in Littleton.
JUNIOR HURLING
The junior hurlers played out a draw in the mid championship against Thurles Gaels last Saturday. In a game where both sides took dominance at various stages the final score was 1-16 apiece. The final group game is against Holycross/Ballycahill this Sunday at 12 noon in Drombane.
MINOR HURLING
Comiserations to our minor hurlers who were defeated by Loughmore-Castleiney in the mid championship quarter final last Monday.
UPPERCHURCH DROMBANES FASTEST FAMILY
On Saturday Sept 30th Thurles Greyhound Stadium will play host to a relay race to find our fastest family. Teams of 3 (must have a gender mix!) will compete for this prestigious title where each team member will run a lap of the track cheered on by a partisan local crowd. Have your gang got what it takes to meet this challenge? If the answer is yes then you need to do 3 things:
- find two other family members who are prepared to give it a go!
- contact any committee member to get your spot on the starting line
- get training!!
Being a fairly modern outfit, we're open minded as to what constitutes a family but our imagination has it's limits. Preference is for at least two direct family members (siblings / parent etc, perhaps joined by 1st cousin, in-law etc. It goes without saying (but we'll say it anyway) that the organising committee's ruling on such important matters shall be final. Participants must be 18yrs of age sometime this year to participate - you can be as old as you like but you wont be getting a head start!!
We'll also be running the normal buster dog race on the night, auction of the relay teams , live music and loads of fun. Ticket will be ready shortly so watch this space.
This could be your clan's moment to shine so don't be shy and get in contact if interested in entering.
TIPPERARY V GALWAY
Hard luck to Mike, James and all the Tipperary panel last weekend in the AI semi final. The entire team put up a performance to be proud of.
