SENIOR HURLERS
The senior hurlers opened their county championship campaign with a draw against Killenaule last Sunday. A fine high quality game saw the sides go in at half time level at 9 points apiece. An early second half goal from Colm Stapleton put Upperchurch 2 points ahead but Killenaule hit back to lead by 2 with 5 minutes remaining. A Paul Ryan score put Upperchurch-Drombane ahead again going into injury time but Killenaule managed to find an equalizer to share the points. The other game in the group saw Drom & Inch and JK Brackens also drawing. Killenaule top the group with 3 pts from 2 games while the other 3 teams have 1 point each. The next fixture is against JK Brackens on Sat May 7th in The Ragg with the postponed game v Drom & Inch pencilled in for May 25th.
